FW: Strength In Numbers

I still haven’t really worked out at the gym yet.  The good news is that yesterday I spoke to a friend at work and we agreed that we will go to the gym together.  I’m hoping this new accountability will help.  I think it’s going to be pretty tough to get back into the swing of things, but I can do it.

Weigh-in

With Weigh-In less than a week away I have to say I’m a bit nervous about the 5% weight loss I need to stay in the competition.  I will have to really watch what I eat all week and get out and do some walking.  I am hovering around that 5%, but think I can make it.  Wish me luck!

 

Nice Weather

I have to say that the weather change has been very welcome.  I find that the longer it stays gray outside, the longer I feel blue inside.  The sun definitely makes me feel rejuvenated and ready to go.  I am so glad I can get out and take walks now.  The ability to get outside also helps with the boredom eating I have been doing all winter.  I’m feeling positive and ready to lose some weight. 

My brother

Just recently my brother was featured in a news story about something that really inspires me.  He is going to run in a 100 mile race, on Saturday, to raise money for Metro Hospital.  So when I think about exercising and get overwhelmed by the thought, I just think about the idea of actually running 100 miles.  He is absolutely incredible and so inspiring.  I’d be happy to run 5 miles. 

Post Vacation

I’m home from vacation and it is time to pay the piper.  I have put on a couple of pounds and now I have to work to get it off before weigh in next Saturday.  I should be able to do it.  I was pretty active on vacation, but we did eat out almost every meal.  Now it’s time to slow down on the eating and really ramp up the exercise.

Vacation Time

Today I leave for a family vacation.  My plan is to stay as active as possible to counter any overeating I might do.  I plan on taking lots of walks and swim a ton.  So far things are going pretty well this month.  No major losses, but no major gains either.  Hopefully I can keep it up through vacation.
